Watercolor artist Loren Blackburn was born in Glens Falls, New York, where his interest in painting started early in life. He was educated as a design engineer and combined this training with his art talent to work as an industrial advertising and marketing communications executive. In 1984, he chose early retirement to paint full time in his studio in Queensbury, New York, where he resides with his wife Joan.

Loren has always had a strong attachment to the beauty of the countryside in which he was raised. Loren's distinctive watercolors are a nostalgic expression of rural and coastal life, architecture and landscapes of New England and beyond.

Loren has been featured in several newspaper and art magazines over the past thirty five years. Loren was selected by "American Artist" magazine as watercolor artist of the month and has been permanently inducted into "Who's Who in American Art."

In August 1997, he was one of 29 artists nationally profiled by US ART Magazine as "Artist Worthy of Collectors' Attention." Loren's watercolors are in private and corporate collections worldwide and in the permanent collection of the United States Air Force, United States Navy and the William J. Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas.
